Halloween.. Or If
Happy Halloween!!
Or if a picture paints a thousand words
Then why can't I paint you
Because, its sad but true
I don't have my Zire 72
Yes, I awoke this morning to find out that my Palm Zire72 would not turn on.. power up.. work.
I of course went to the palm web site and researched their support. Following their online instructions, I attempted a soft reboot and a hard reboot when the first failed to do anything.
I then emailed customer support, as their web site requested, and told them that I had attempted a soft reboot and a hard reboot and still my device would not turn on.
I did receive a prompt reply.. notifying me that they see I have attempted a soft reboot and then a hard reboot and that my device still won't turn on.
They then have the instructions for a soft reboot and a hard reboot, obviously a cut 'n' paste job since I had just read them on the web site.
I call the phone number at the bottom of the email, since the instructions sent to me, which by the way were in larger text and bold, were useless.
After an accidental disconnect, I reach someone, who hears my story, looks up my record and then informs me that I need to send in my device for repair but unfortunately the warranty ran out October 31st, 2005..
I say, "But today is October 31st, 2005"
"Yes, I know, but the computer says that your warranty expired October 31st, 2005"
"But today IS October 31st, 2005"
"Yes, I know.."
I think you get the gist of the next couple of minutes of conversation.
Point in their favor, they did agree to honor the warranty and fix it for free. But it does mean that I will be without photos for a while..
It is kind of freeing though.. I kind of like it.
I think concentrating on the images too much hampers the free flow train of thought..
