Bad Things
I should have known that today was going to be a little whacked... after all, things looked a little... well, askew. Seemed like things that were supposed to be solid were a little - um, loose... as it were. But what is one to do?
Upon arriving at 2nd and Mission street, a block away from work.. because I drove all the way into work today... I see this cop directing traffic either to the right or left.. and quite a few firetrucks hanging in the street. Can't tell how many trucks.. but it is a lot.
So I drive around the block, well, a couple of blocks to be exact due to one way streets..
Park, and head up 2nd to see what is going on.. because I can tell everyone on the street is relaxed and what ever the emergency was - it has passed. As I head up the street, I see a couple of PG&E guys and I begin to think what ever it was.. was pretty big!
The eight to ten firetrucks was another tip-off that something big had gone down.I snap a quick photo of a few of the men (I didn't see any women) hanging out talking...
Grab another shot of the broken glass in the alley across from Adolph Gassers..And head across the street to grab a Peet's latte. Large of course..
I add a pumpkin scone to the order... 'cause they look good. But it didn't taste as good as it looked... which is alright 'cause Peet's coffee is so damn good, everything else is alright.
As I head back down the street from Peet's, I snap another shot of the trucks and firefolks to attempt to capture just how many there were. There were a lot... I said that already didn't I. Oh well, there were a lot. Crossing back across the street - which sounds a little funny because of the double crosses in that sentence - I look back up at the building...
And there it is; the Money Shot.About three stories up, the windows are blown out... which explains the broken glass in the alley as mentioned earlier.
Clearly, what ever was up there is no longer in existance.
And that concludes my morning commute...
I only include the evening home commute because as I walked out to the truck, it was the most perfect evening I had seen in a long time...The lighting was just perfect as one can view by this photograph...
And this last shot is in the mix because valentines day and walgreens seem oddly juxtaposed......and yet, here they are.
By the way.. I know I haven't been keeping up on my daily blogs... been a bit busy don't ya know. And I signed up for another online course via Palomar College.
And I've been so gone
For so long
It seems like someone once said
They'd find me dead
But I'm not
And they're gone
So gone..
For so long
