Home Sweet Home
Well, here it is - The American Dream. Home Sweet Home.I have been attempting to capture a photo like this for a while. I thought about asking the gentleman in the photo if I could take his picture - but, he seemed distracted by a train of thought that I didn't think I would understand...
And it seemed best to get to work on time... especially since we were launching the new KFOG site any moment (well, I knew it would be early tomorrow morning... but there was some more to get finished if we were going to launch on time. Though some would say we launched late. I think they had unrealistic ideas about launching a new site.)
He was still home when I went to pick up the truck.
This is a building at the corner of Howard and 6th that I have wanted to capture on film for quite some time, also. From what little I know about it.... and I'm not even sure that what I know is true... but apparently some guy owns the building and boarded it up some time ago and then stuck all the furniture on the sides and roof.
As I recall, now that I think of it, I think he boarded it up after the furniture was adhered to the walls..
This is a city worker keeping our streets clean. She was at Mission and 7th... a very difficult area to keep clean.
Just a block a way is the famous Carls Jr. where one can get just about anything they want - as long as though don't care if it's clean.
At first I was going to call this photo "protesting". But then I realized that what the people were really doing is bring awareness to something. I did not know if they were "against" anything. But what is definite is that they wanted people to be aware of something and they also were asking for a show of support by passing vehicles honking their horns.A lot of people honked their horns upon passing what looked to be a block full of people with signs and placecards.
I do not know what they wanted people to be aware of.
And this is the best library in the world - bar none. Marin City Library. You can reserve a book a day here for free over the internet - which is awesome!Just browse for the title, author, etc. online at any connected library and then have it picked up in Marin City. Free.
Give the fifty cents you save to the guy in the first photo.
